It was a smashing success!  The concert opened with some relatively heavy stuff for many Filipino music lovers – which includes me – but, the inevitable musical journey into the second half of the program was cast against a tapestry of old familiar tunes, swirling and undulating in unfamiliar fashion, rich in sophisticated structure and artistry. As the familiar melodic lines drifted among the audience they evoked a couple of teardrops from some of my old and sentimental friends.  And above all this, there ascended musical designs that stirred in the Filipinos a sense of pride in their music and their music makers. 

And our young artists?  They were outstanding!  They were fantastic!  Even before the last note vanished into nothingness I heard a voice:  “Let us do this again.”  Of course, we will.  And, be sure to be there next time. 

The Free Medical Clinic

We have continued to carry on our mission of providing care for the uninsured and underinsured.  There has been a growing number of patients served and as this continues we hope to lure into our midst doctors, nurses and non-medical assistants to help us cope with the increasing amount of work.
